Comments:
Introduced in 1959, the ES-345 was designed as an upscale version of the ES-335, sitting between it and the top-tier ES-355. It is defined by its "Stereo" wiring and the 6-position Varitone rotary switch, which offers a wide range of filtered tonal presets. By 1967, Gibson had shifted to a narrower nut width (approx. 1 9/16") and "witch-hat" control knobs. The crown inlay on the headstock was also more centralised compared to earlier "high crown" positions. This specific guitar's B7 Bigsby and the tailpiece holes indicate it was originally built as a "Stop Tail" model. In the 1960s, it was common for owners to retrofit Bigsby vibratos; the original stop-bar tailpiece studs would be removed, and the resulting holes were often filled with "pearl dowels" to match the fretboard inlays for a cleaner aesthetic. The guitar had some parts replaced but all the originals components will be sold with it. Please see the specs list above for details.
