This 2023 left-handed Gibson SG Standard in Heritage Cherry is a modern electric guitar built with the look and feel of a classic late '60s model. It features a solid mahogany body and neck, a rounded neck profile, and a full-face pickguard. The guitar is finished in a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer and comes with an original black Gibson soft shell case (gig bag). Introduced in 1961 as the replacement for the original Les Paul, the model was officially renamed the SG (Solid Guitar) by late 1963. It has remained a continuous production staple for Gibson ever since, famous for its thinner, double-cutaway body and fast neck. This 2023 model is part of Gibson's "Modern Collection," specifically designed to replicate the highly sought-after late '60s features, including the full-face pickguard and rounded neck profile, combining vintage aesthetics with modern reliability. The "DEMO" inscription engraved on the back of the headstock indicates the guitar was likely used for in-store displays, trade shows (like NAMM), or as a loaner to artists and representatives. The guitar displays close to no playing wear.
