Comments:
Introduced in 1996, the 000-28EC is one of Martin’s most successful signature models. It is a tribute to the 1939 Martin 000-42 Eric Clapton famously used during his 1992 MTV Unplugged performance. The model was created to capture the essence of Clapton's limited-edition 000-42EC at a more accessible price point. It is part of Martin's Vintage Series, designed to replicate the feel and tonal characteristics of pre-war acoustics. It features a unique "Modified V" neck profile, which was Clapton’s personal preference for both his acoustic and electric guitars, and the internal label is signed by both Eric Clapton and C.F. Martin IV, along with the handwritten production sequence number (#7326 for this one). Known for its "focused" sound, it provides an even balance across all strings, making it a benchmark for blues and fingerstyle playing.
