The Peavey ValveKing VK100 is an all-tube, 100-watt guitar amplifier head that was first introduced in 2005. It was designed to offer "boutique-style" features and professional tube tone at an entry-level price point, making it a popular choice for working musicians and gigging guitarists throughout the mid-to-late 2000s. The ValveKing was Peavey's response to the growing market for affordable, mass-produced tube amps. While most of Peavey's classic line was made in the USA, the ValveKing was manufactured in China to keep costs low while maintaining high-wattage tube performance. The patented Texture™ Control (found on the rear panel) allows users to sweep between Class A and Class A/B power structures. In "Class A" mode, power drops to roughly 40W for a sweeter, richer tone; "Class A/B" provides the full 100W with a tighter, more modern response.
