Comments:
The Martin J12-16GT is a 12-string jumbo acoustic guitar known for its big, resonant sound, and clear, chiming tone. The "GT" designation indicated a gloss top with satin finish on the back and sides. The model was introduced around 2000 and manufactured until mid-2013. It was part of Martin's 16 Series, a line that balances high-quality, solid tonewood construction with a more efficient, modern build process. For this line of guitars, Martin utilised a "simple dovetail" neck joint instead of the traditional hand-carved dovetail joint used in the Standard Series, which helped keep the price down. Models made between 2000 and mid-2009 used a black Micarta fingerboard and bridge, while models made from mid-2009 to 2013, including this 2012 version, featured a black Richlite fingerboard and bridge.
