Comments:
The Martin J-40M was a jumbo-sized acoustic guitar designed by Chris Martin IV to combine the power of a dreadnought with the tonal balance and midrange clarity of a smaller "M" body. Introduced in 1985, it featured distinctive abalone hexagon inlays, and was one of the first Martin models to be equipped with a factory-standard adjustable truss rod, a feature long requested by players that allowed for easier neck adjustments. In 1990, the natural-finish version of the J-40M was officially renamed the J-40.
