This model, part of the sought-after Vintage Series produced from 1995 to 2018, is a modern re-creation of the classic pre-war herringbone D-28 dreadnought. The "HD-28V" is particularly known for its deep bass response and powerful, balanced tone, a result of its vintage-inspired features, including scalloped, forward-shifted X-bracing, a solid Sitka spruce top, and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides. It features a distinctive Modified V neck profile and a traditional long saddle, which were discontinued when the Standard Series was "reimagined" in 2018, making this specific vintage reissue highly desirable among players seeking that specific historic feel and sound.
