Comments:
This 2018 Martin D-18 is part of the “Reimagined" Standard Series that the company began rolling out in 2013, incorporating vintage-inspired features with modern playability enhancements. It is known for its warm, balanced tone and robust projection, blending classic aesthetics with contemporary construction features. The D-18 has been a cornerstone of the Martin lineup for decades. The original 12-fret D-18 was introduced in 1931, with the iconic 14-fret design following in 1934. Throughout the post-WWII era until 2012, the D-18 maintained a consistent design with minor variations, primarily featuring non-scalloped bracing and a 1 11/16" nut width. In 2013, Martin significantly updated the D-18, moving it closer to "Golden Era" vintage specs. This revision included features such as forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing (for enhanced resonance), an aging toner top finish, open-gear tuners, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge. This 2018 model is part of this acclaimed, modern iteration.
