Comments:
This 2009 Martin 000-28 Eric Clapton Signature is an Auditorium-sized acoustic guitar (000-14 Fret body style) with all-solid wood construction, known for its rich, balanced tone and vintage aesthetic. The history of the 000-28 Eric Clapton Signature model is rooted in Clapton's 1992 MTV Unplugged concert, a performance that significantly boosted the popularity of acoustic guitars. For this performance, Clapton primarily used a 1939 Martin 000-42 and a modified 1966 000-28. The overwhelming public interest in these instruments led Martin to introduce its first Eric Clapton signature model in 1995, a limited edition 000-42EC, which sold out rapidly. The success of the limited edition prompted Martin to introduce a standard production model, the 000-28EC, in 1996. This model was designed to replicate the specifications of the guitar Clapton played during the performance, combining features from his vintage instruments, such as the comfortable short-scale length and a Modified V neck profile. It quickly became one of Martin's best-selling and most popular artist models, remaining in production for decades, including the 2009 model year. Each guitar features an interior label individually numbered and signed by Eric Clapton and C.F. Martin IV.
