Comments:
This left-handed K. Yairi YW-500P was manufactured in the Kani, Japan workshop in 1979. K. Yairi guitars are known for their meticulous construction, including hand-carved bracing and prolonged air-drying of tone woods, which sets them apart from mass-produced instruments. The YW-500P is a Martin D-35 style dreadnought, featuring a solid spruce top and rosewood back and sides, often presented with a multi-ply binding and a natural gloss finish. The serial number on these guitars usually incorporates an "Emperor Dating Code" stamped on the heel block; the first two digits indicate the year of the current Emperor's reign. This specific serial number (22 for the 54th year of Emperor Shōwa, 1979) confirms its vintage provenance and handmade character.
