K. Yairi guitars are handmade in a small workshop in Kani, Gifu, Japan, a tradition that has continued for decades. The YFP series (Yairi Folk Parlor) features smaller, more manageable guitars designed for comfort and portability without sacrificing quality. The YFP-02 model succeeded the YFP-01. The primary change was the use of linden wood for the back and sides to enhance cost performance while maintaining the traditional aesthetic and quality construction that K. Yairi is known for. The guitar is often praised for being ideal for players with smaller hands due to its comfortable 42mm nut width and compact body, making it a popular choice for women or those who find dreadnoughts too large. It features a satin, semi-gloss finish, which contributes to its sophisticated, traditional appearance.
