• Back and sides: Solid Indian rosewood back and sides
• Bracing: Traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing
• Finish: gloss Vintage Sunburst with a thin nitrocellulose lacquer for enhanced resonance and a classic aesthetic
• Binding: Multi-ply binding on top (5-ply), back (4-ply), and fingerboard/headstock (3-ply)
• Neck: two-piece maple design with a walnut center stringer
• Scale length: 25.5 inches (647.7 mm)
• Fingerboard: high-grade ebony
• Frets: 20 standard frets with mother-of-pearl block inlays
• Neck joint: compound dovetail joint with hot hide glue

This 2023 Gibson SJ-200 Western Classic is a high-end, Custom Shop acoustic guitar that is a modern replica of the original 1930s "King of the Flat-Tops" models, specifically inspired by the rare, early rosewood prototypes from 1937. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, this super jumbo guitar is celebrated for its impressive volume, rich tone, and distinctive vintage-style appointments. First introduced in 1937, the Gibson Super Jumbo (SJ-200) was designed to be the largest and most powerful acoustic guitar available, intended to compete with Martin's large-bodied guitars and to provide significant volume that could cut through a band mix. While later standard models predominantly featured maple back and sides, the earliest, highly prized examples used rosewood. The Western Classic model harks back to this initial design, offering a unique tonal variation compared to the more common maple versions. This guitar is a collector's item and a high-performance instrument, prized for its classic design, premium materials, and powerful, room-filling sound.
