Comments:
This 2024 Gibson SG Standard in Heritage Cherry is an American-made, solid-body electric guitar known for its lightweight mahogany body, powerful Humbucker pickups, and comfortable rounded neck profile, and it comes with a premium gig bag. Introduced in 1961 as a replacement for the original single-cutaway Les Paul model, the new design featured a thinner, all-mahogany body with deep double cutaways (often referred to as "devil horns"), offering exceptional upper-fret access. Les Paul was not involved in this redesign and requested his name be removed; by 1963, the model was officially renamed the SG Standard. This modern 2024 SG Standard is based on the features associated with the late-1960s style SGs, including the larger, full-face "batwing" pickguard and a slightly fuller, rounded neck profile, distinguishing it from the '61 Reissue which features a slimmer neck and smaller pickguard. The "DEMO" inscription engraved on the back of the headstock indicates the guitar was likely used for in-store displays, trade shows (like NAMM), or as a loaner to artists and representatives. The guitar displays close to no playing wear.
