This first-year 1993 Gibson Nighthawk is a unique electric guitar that blends Gibson and Fender elements, featuring a mahogany body with a maple top, a 25.5-inch scale length, and a mix of mini-humbucker, single-coil, and humbucker pickups. These specifications create a versatile instrument with a wide tonal palette, suitable for various genres, though it was discontinued in 1998 shortly after its initial release.

Gibson produced a limited edition revival of the Nighthawk line in 2009 featuring a mahogany body with a figured maple top and a Translucent Amber finish. It had a P-90 pickup in the neck and a humbucker in the bridge, a set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and vintage-style hardware like a Tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece. The guitar's design was a hybrid of Gibson and Fender styles, with a single-cutaway Les Paul-like body shape but a longer, 25.5" scale length. This second iteration was discontinued in 2020.
