This 2025 Gibson Les Paul Junior belongs to Gibson’s Original Collection and follows the stripped-back formula of the original Les Paul Junior, introduced in 1954 as a more affordable model for students: a solid single-cutaway slab-mahogany body, glued-in mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, wraparound bridge and one bridge-position dog-ear P-90 controlled by a master volume and tone. Although intentionally simpler than a Les Paul Standard, the Junior became widely used by professional rock, blues and punk musicians because of its direct response, strong midrange, dynamic P-90 sound and uncomplicated controls. This modern version combines that traditional layout with a substantial 50s Vintage neck profile, Graph Tech nut, hand-wired electronics and an Orange Drop tone capacitor.
