Comments:

The Les Paul Custom was introduced in 1954 as the high-end, "tuxedo" version of the Les Paul Standard, featuring a solid mahogany body and top (unlike the maple-topped Standard), an ebony fingerboard, multi-ply binding, and gold hardware. In 1968, Gibson re-introduced the single-cutaway Les Paul design, and the Custom model now featured the maple top over a mahogany body construction that became standard for subsequent production models. The 1990s were a period of high consistency and quality for Gibson USA, which had moved all production to Nashville by 1989. Guitars from this era are highly regarded for their build quality. This guitar maintains the classic aesthetic with a multi-bound headstock featuring the "split diamond" inlay and an ebony fingerboard.
