Comments:
The Gibson J-45, nicknamed "The Workhorse," was first introduced in 1942 as an affordable, durable, and understated round-shoulder dreadnought acoustic guitar. Throughout its history, it has become one of the most popular and recorded acoustic guitars of all time, used across genres from folk to rock. The "ADJ" in the model name refers to the adjustable saddle in the bridge, a feature that was prominent in J-45s produced during the 1960s. This design choice, while sometimes controversial among purists compared to the fixed-saddle design, offers easy action height adjustment and imparts a specific tonal characteristic to the instrument, with a slightly different sustain and attack. This specific model is a 2020 reissue that authentically captures the aesthetics and features of the 1960s models, including the distinctive large white pickguard with the "Gibson" logo and multi-ply binding. It features a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish in the special "Wine Red" colour.
