Comments:
The Flying V was first introduced in 1958 with a radical "futuristic" design but was discontinued by 1959 due to low sales. It returned to regular production in 1967 with a larger pickguard and a stop-bar tailpiece, a design that became the blueprint for modern reissues like this one. 1998 marked the 40th Anniversary of the Flying V's original release. While some '98 models featured gold hardware and a "Limited Edition" decal on the back of the headstock, this one is part of the standard '67 Reissue production run, which was the staple of the Gibson USA catalog during this era.
