Comments:
The Gibson ES-335 was the world's first semi-hollow body electric guitar. It was designed by Gibson president Ted McCarty to bridge the gap between the warm tone of a hollow body and the sustain and feedback resistance of a solid body like the Les Paul. The original 1958 models featured "dot" fingerboard inlays, which were changed to "block" inlays in 1962. This 2022 model is part of the Original Collection, which returns to these classic "Dot" specifications. The Calibrated T-Type Humbuckers in this guitar are modern recreations of the "T-Top" pickups used by Gibson from the late 1960s through the 1970s, known for their clarity and "honky" vintage-inspired bite. The DEMO engraving on the back of a Gibson headstock indicates that the guitar was sold through the Gibson Demo Shop.
