The Roadhouse Stratocaster was introduced in 1997 as part of Fender's Hot Rodded American Standard Series. The defining feature of the model was its factory-fitted trio of Texas Special single-coil pickups, giving it a stronger output and more midrange character than a standard American Standard Stratocaster while preserving traditional Strat versatility. The Teal Green Metallic finish was one of the more distinctive colours offered during the model's relatively short production run (1997–2000), and today these guitars are appreciated for combining late-1990s American Standard build quality with factory "hot-rodded" appointments, making them an increasingly sought-after variation within Fender's Stratocaster lineup.
