Comments:

The EJ Signature series launched in 2005 after years of meticulous development. Eric Johnson is notoriously detail-oriented regarding tone. The guitar incorporates several unique "EJ mods," such as the absence of a back tremolo cover (and no screw holes for one) and the removal of string trees to improve tuning stability. The neck plate features an engraved Kokopelli (a Navajo deity representing a "mischievous minstrel") and the EJ serial number. Unlike standard production Strats, this model uses a very thin "Flash-Coat" nitrocellulose lacquer to allow the wood to breathe and resonate more freely. And unlike a vintage Strat, the tone controls are wired to the neck and bridge pickups, rather than the neck and middle, per Johnson's preference for taming the bridge's brightness.
