Comments:
The Epiphone Casino was introduced in 1961 at the Gibson and Epiphone factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was closely related to the Gibson ES-330 and formed part of the new generation of thin electric archtops introduced around that period. Its defining difference from models such as the ES-335 was its genuinely hollow construction rather than the use of a solid centre block. The Casino became particularly prominent through its association with The Beatles. John Lennon and George Harrison used Casinos, helping establish the model as one of the most recognisable hollowbody guitars in popular music. Japanese Casino production continued the model after the end of the original Kalamazoo era.
