Zemaitis Dreadnought Paul McCartney Natural 1983

The following instrument was personally commissioned by Paul McCartney to be custom built by one of Britains most respected of all guitar luthiers, that being the late Tony Zemaitis. Both Paul McCartney and his fellow Beatle George Harrison, like many British musical icons, had high regard for Tony's instruments and had custom ordered various instruments over many years for stage, touring and recording purposes.

History

The instrument was commissioned by Paul McCartney in 1983 to be built by Tony Zemaitis and to be gifted later to his personal friend, the famed British wrestler Giant Haystacks (Luke McMasters), who had featured in several of Paul's music videos that included “Give My Regards to Broadstreet”.

Both Paul McCartney and George Harrison have favoured Zemaitis instruments throughout much of their career, with George Harrison also commissioning ‘5’ Zemaitis instruments under the heading “Thames Valley Special” that were gifted to a select number of famed guitarists.
