Comments:

The SGV-300 is a modern reissue of the legendary 1966 Yamaha SG-5A, often referred to as the "Flying Samurai" due to its distinctive, sword-like asymmetrical body and "hockey stick" headstock. The SGV series was officially launched at the 2000 NAMM Show and remained in production until roughly 2007. The “Samurai" headstock design was one of Yamaha's earliest major innovations, featuring a sharp, 12-degree angled look that became an icon of 1960s Japanese "Eleki" surf rock. The bridge pickup is actually two single-coils placed close together: using the blender knob, you can transition from a bright single-coil "quack" to a full humbucking sound.
