Warwick uses a letter-coded dating system. It introduced a more streamlined interface and improved thermal management from its predecessor, the Pro Fet IV. Although it is a 100% solid-state (FET-based) amplifier, it was engineered to mimic the soft-clipping characteristics of tube amps. It features a \"one-knob\" compressor that became very popular for its simplicity in smoothing out slap-bass peaks.
