Comments:
The 512-C was a flagship of Taylor’s early success. The "512" denotes the 500 Series (Mahogany/Spruce) in the Grand Concert body shape, and the "C" stands for Cutaway. Guitars from the "pre-NT neck” era were hand-fitted with traditional dovetail-style joints before Taylor's 1999 shift to the bolt-on NT neck design, making them prized by collectors for their "old school" Taylor feel. The Grand Concert (introduced in 1984) was Taylor's first proprietary body shape, designed specifically for fingerstyle players who wanted a smaller, more intimate instrument than the standard dreadnought.
