Comments:
The Martin OMCPA1 (Orchestra Model Cutaway Performing Artist 1) was the flagship of Martin’s "Performing Artist Series” in the 2010s, designed to compete with high-end modern acoustic-electrics by offering a slimmer, "electric-like" neck and advanced onboard electronics. The three-model lineup included the DCPA1 (Dreadnought) and GPCPA1 (Grand Performance). Martin developed this series specifically for gigging musicians, with a neck profile that is slimmer and faster than traditional Martin necks, making lead lines and barred chords easier for those used to electric guitars. The model aslo featured the Fishman F1 Aura system. Unlike standard pickups, the Aura uses "images" (studio recordings of that specific model with high-end microphones) which can be blended with the undersaddle pickup for a more natural, "mic'd up" sound on stage. The "1" in the model name signifies it as the top-tier version, featuring premium tonewoods (solid East Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce) and high-end appointments like abalone inlays and gold hardware.
