Comments:
The Classic S was Manson Guitar Works' premium "Super Strat" offering during the early-to-mid 1990s. While Manson is now globally famous for Matthew Bellamy's (Muse) futuristic guitars, this 1994 model represents their "Golden Era" of traditional high-performance boutique builds. At this time, Manson was a much smaller operation, with Hugh Manson and a tiny team crafting instruments that were highly sought after by session pros and rock stars like John Paul Jones. The "Classic S" was designed to be a "Strato-style" guitar but with significantly upgraded hardware and woods. It sat alongside their "E-Series" and "Magnum" models as a more versatile, high-end workhorse. The Seymour Duncan Parallel Axis Pickups installed on this model were designed to solve the problem of string alignment over Floyd Rose tremolos, and they use dual pole pieces per string for a very clear, balanced, and hi-fi tone.
