As founder, guitarist and principal creative force behind King Crimson, Fripp helped redefine what the electric guitar could do within progressive and experimental rock. His playing combines precision, unusual rhythmic structures, crosspicking, sustained textures and a highly individual approach to harmony and composition. His work has influenced generations of musicians, from progressive and experimental artists to players including Dave Matthews and Steven Wilson.

THE COLLECTION

The following instrument is from the personal collection of Robert Fripp Founding memeber of Prog Rock Group King Crimson

THE CUSTOM MUSTANG

J DAVEY HAND BUILT MUSTANG

2000s

Black

Hand Built by J Davey Custom Guitars

Mustang-Inspired Body

Lace Sensor Pickups

Mustang Tremolo

Custom Built for Robert Fripp

Electric Guitar

Original Touring Case

COMMENTS

A hand-built J Davey instrument from respected British guitar builder Jamie Davey, whose Wolverhampton workshop has produced bespoke instruments since the early 1990s.
