This 2022 model is a recreation of the early-1960s Les Paul Standard, combining vintage-inspired styling with modern manufacturing consistency. Introduced as part of Gibson's return to more historically faithful core models that began in 2019, the Standard '60s features the slimmer SlimTaper neck profile while retaining the traditional non-weight-relieved mahogany body, carved maple top, classic ABR-1 bridge, and vintage-style electronics. The Faded Vintage Cherry Burst finish uses a satin nitrocellulose lacquer rather than the full gloss finish found on the standard model, giving the guitar a more understated appearance that will naturally polish and wear with regular playing.
