This 2022 Les Paul Standard combines the classic specifications of Gibson's celebrated late-1950s Les Paul Standard with a satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish that gives the instrument a more understated appearance and a smooth, broken-in feel. Introduced as part of Gibson's revitalised Standard Collection, which launched in 2019 with an emphasis on historically inspired construction, the Standard '50s Faded retains the traditional non-weight-relieved mahogany body, carved AA figured maple top, substantial 50s Vintage neck profile and vintage-style hardware while offering a thinner satin finish that allows more of the wood grain to remain visible. The Vintage Honey Burst finish recalls the warm amber and honey tones associated with naturally aged late-1950s Les Pauls, and the model continues the legacy of the original Les Paul, first introduced in 1952, which remains one of the most influential solid-body electric guitars ever produced.
