HISTORY

John Sykes was one of the most gifted and influential rock guitarists of the 1980s, renowned for his powerful tone, melodic phrasing, and exceptional technical ability. Best known for his time with Thin Lizzy, Sykes joined the band in 1982 and played a key role on their final studio album, Thunder and Lightning (1983), bringing a heavier, more aggressive sound that helped modernize the band's classic twin-guitar style. His dynamic performances on tracks such as "Cold Sweat" showcased his speed, precision, and expressive vibrato, earning widespread admiration from fans and fellow musicians alike. Beyond Thin Lizzy, his work with Whitesnake and Blue Murder cemented his reputation as one of rock's premier guitarists.
