The year 2015 marked what would have been the 100th birthday of legendary inventor and guitarist Les Paul. To celebrate, Gibson completely overhauled its entire standard USA production line with highly modern, unified technical specifications. The 2015 Classic was part of that shift, featuring a built-in 15 dB active Turbo Boost switch toggled by a mini-switch on the top, a layout consisting of two volumes and a single master tone control, and G-force robotuners.
