This 1960 model features a \"slab\" double-cutaway mahogany body, which was aesthetically identical to the Les Paul Junior guitar of the same era. This is a significant year for the model, as it represents the final full year of the original body style before Gibson shifted to the \"SG\" body shape in 1961. Known for its \"Mudbucker\" pickup, the EB-0 produced a massive, dark, and thumping low end that became a staple of 1960s rock, most famously used by players like Jack Bruce (Cream) and Felix Pappalardi (Mountain). Early 1960 models often still featured rear-facing \"banjo-style\" tuners, though Gibson began transitioning to side-mounted cloverleaf tuners around this time.
