HISTORY

Robby Krieger's innovative guitar work with The Doors helped redefine the role of the electric guitar during the late 1960s. Combining influences from flamenco, jazz, blues and Eastern music, his distinctive style produced timeless songs including Light My Fire, Love Me Two Times and Riders on the Storm. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Krieger favoured melodic phrasing and expressive dynamics over sheer volume, earning widespread admiration from players across multiple genres. His Gibson SG remains one of the defining guitars of psychedelic rock.
