The following instrument was personally owned and used by the highly respected and influential British blues rock guitarist, Edgar Broughton. Founding member of the Edgar Broughton Band, his distinct playing style was influenced by artists including Captain Beefheart and Howlin Wolf, details as follows:

The Fender Psychedelic Stratocaster

HISTORY

The guitar, a 1963 Fender Stratocaster, was purchased second hand by Edgar Broughton in 1966 in its original fiesta red finish and during his long tenure of ownership it has been played by many legendary and influential guitarists including Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd. The instrument was also used by Edgar Broughton on many highly acclaimed performances including the 1969 Isle of Wight Festival and the first Glastonbury Festival in 1970.
