While it looks like a Gibson J-45, the Texan features a longer 25.5-inch scale length (similar to a Martin or a Fender), which provides higher string tension and a brighter, more \"punchy\" tone than its Gibson counterparts. Guitars from this period were built by the same craftsmen, using the same tonewoods and methods as the \"Golden Era\" Gibsons. This model is most famous for being the primary acoustic guitar of Paul McCartney, who used a 1964 Texan to record and perform \"Yesterday”.
